E-Commerce Hosting For the Beginner Or The
Expert
Offering your products and services for sale
online has gotten easier, cheaper, and much more user friendly
especially with our new shopping cart CartXpress
by OsCommerce. Whether you’re a seasoned player in the world
of E-Commerce or just starting out, we have the right hosting tools and
plans for you. We provide a reliable E-Commerce hosting solution that
adapts to the growing needs of your business.
There are basic steps you need to follow to
get started with online sales:
1.
Setup A Shopping Cart - The heart of any business website, a
shopping cart is how your customers browse and request to purchase your
products. Ease-of-use is a key element in a user's shopping cart
experience. Our Business Hosting Plan
provides CartXpress to meet your
E-Commerce needs. CartXpress is
the leading open source E-Commerce application and features extensive
flexibility, convenient reporting, and an active user community.
2. Get a Merchant Account and a Payment
Gateway: Merchant accounts allow/authorize you to take credit cards,
and gateways facilitate the process online. We first suggest that you
check with your current banking partner, if you have an established
relationship with them it can be a great place to start. If you need a
merchant account you can view our
information that will help you get started.
3.
Add Secure SSL (HTTPS) Capability: In order to take credit card
information from your customers you will need to have secure order and
cart pages - pages beginning with "https" and having that
familiar "lock" in the lower right corner of the browser
window. All Conquest Hosting customers have FREE access to the use of
our server secure certificates - see SSL
Security for more details. If you would like to purchase your own
SSL certificate, for "https://yourdomain.com" type URLs, you
can use the "GeoTrust" tool in your account control panel.
GeoTrust certs use industry standard 128-but encryption, and are
available for $99/year - more than $200 less than the Verisign cert!
